The Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Doncaster are tireless supporters of students from Doncaster Secondary College . Rotary sponsored programs aim to provide enriching opportunities for young prople.as this will have a positive benefit on the future of our country and our world. Programs introduce students to Rotary and involve them in community ideals as well as showing them opportunities available to them in the future.

Programs include:

Interact – a school based club which enables students to work together with a focus on community services while supporting others to make things happens.

Camp Awakenings – a two and a half day personal development camp which focusses on building support networks through friendship and trust.

MUNA (Model United Nations Assembly) – a 2 day program which simulates the General Assembly of the United Nations. It encourages young people to learn about other countries and appreciate the workings of the UN.

RYPEN – a 3 day residential programs designed to develop potential in young leaders. It aims to encourage young people to create successful and fulfilling lives while dealing positively with the future while making a difference.

RYLA – a youth citizenship award presented to the student in Year 12 who displays the leadership potential. This 6 day intensive program is for community minded people.

National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) – a 2 week program held in a variety of universities which provides students with an opportunity to find out more about scientific matters and explore careers in science.

The Science Experience – This is a 2-4 day national program conducted by the Australian Science Industry Association. It encourages students in years 9 and 10 to consider science and technology as interesting and worthwhile career choices.

Year 10, 4 way speaking contest – This program promotes public speaking for students. The theme of the speeches is Rotary’s Four way test which is applied to any topic chosen by the student.

Applications for all programs must be made through the College and be supported by The Rotary Club of Doncaster .
