Excitement as Capital Works begin....

CAPITAL WORKS COMMENCE

In 2008 the Department of Education approved and funded our Masterplan for a capital works program that will be over $7,000,000.  The works will involve building, refurbishing and resiting a large part of our College.
The works commenced at the end of Term 3, 2008 and will take over a year to fully complete.

The building project for 2008-2010 involves:

  • Complete refurbishment of two wings of general purpose classrooms to provide flexible learning spaces, open activity areas and extensive ICT access;

  • Relocation and modernisation of the Arts / Technology wing, including the construction of new technology classrooms which will be completed ready for Term 4 - 2009;

  • Refurbishment of Science classrooms: now completed;

  • construction of a new Music / Drama Centre, adjacent to the Presentation and Performance Centre, and relocation of four music practice rooms: now completed;

  • Relocation of the administrative services wing closer to the Church Road entrance to the College: now completed;

  • Replacement of older style ‘portables’ with modern re-locatables to establish a  new teaching complex: now nearing completion;

  • Refurbishment of the Library: now complete; and

  • Refurbishment of L Block including the provision of a significantly ICT rich environment: now complete.

Additionally we have used Commonwealth Government funds to resurface our Tennis Courts with a synthetic surface and six blocks of student toilets have been fully refurbished.
